Shinkyudo is a Japanese style of Karate, whose particular focus is on enriching and enhancing lives.
On Sunday, Jan. 20, at the China Wok in Cedar Falls, the Shinkyudo Karate Association of America (SKAA), based in the Waterloo/Cedar
Falls area hosted a Kamiza Ceremony. Honoring newly awarded Black Belts (Yudansha) and a 5th degree master’s level. Yudansha is a
Japanese term used to describe those who have earned their way to the level of Black Belt signifying a step over to the “higher seat”.
Kamiza is a traditional Japanese formal tea ceremony in honor of this step.

In formal dress newly awarded Yudansha Stephen Rose, Kevin Graves, Vedasta Migisha, as well as 5th degree Master Frank Martinez
served tea to all.
